Resistance heating coils fitted inside ductwork or an AHU to provide reheat, mild space heating or humidity control.
Where you'll find it in the UAE
In AHUs and ducted systems in UAE hotels, hospitals, laboratories and premium residential projects, mostly used for reheat and humidity control rather than winter heating.
Common faults
Element burnout, often on one stage only so the fault is partial and easy to miss
Airflow safety interlock or thermal cutout tripping
Contactor welding or failure
Dust accumulation on elements causing odour when energised after a long idle period
What servicing involves
Servicing covers element continuity and insulation resistance testing, safety interlock and thermal cutout verification, contactor inspection, and cleaning. The airflow interlock matters most: an element energised without airflow is a fire risk.

Inspection first, fixed written price before any work begins, and a photo report on completion.
It depends on duty and environment, but in the UAE the dust load and near-continuous runtime mean intervals are shorter than manufacturer figures written for temperate climates. We advise based on the actual installation.

Fouled heat-transfer surfaces, degraded seals and control faults account for most call-outs. Dust and humidity accelerate all three in this climate.
